What is included with my rental?

Front Desk service at the Marina Welcome Center for check-in, check-out and concierge assistance, complementary Wi-Fi access to the resort based internet service, in-unit linens and bath towels, full service kitchen utensils and cookware, and a day one starter kit (travel size hand soap, shampoo and conditioner; one roll of paper towels; two rolls of toilet paper; one large trash bag; small dish detergent; and 4 Keurig coffee pods).

Will my unit have a washer/dryer?

All units are required to have a washer/dryer available for guest use. In the event that an appliance needs to be repaired, we will apologize for any inconvenience; however will not be able to offer discounts or refunds.

Does my unit have a Television, DVD Player or Gaming System?

All units are required to have televisions in the gathering room and the master bedroom. Additional televisions, DVD players and gaming systems are included at the discretion of the owner. Please check the individual unit description online to determine the exact electronic specifications.

How do I get access to the swimming pool?

Swimming pool access is included in your room charges for registered guests only. Any guest in excess of 4 is subject to a $5.00 daily fee. Pool codes are provided at check in. Pool linens are not provided with your stay; please bring pool/beach towels with you.

How do I get access to the boat launch?

Boat launch passes are available with your room stay. If you are bringing a watercraft with you to launch at the resort, trailer parking will be accommodated for free while you are in residence. If a dock slip is needed overnight, slips can be rented for $0.75 per linear foot with a 30 foot minimum.

How do I check-in if I arrive after the office closes?

If you will be arriving late, we ask that you call the rental office 6 hours in advance of your arrival. Once arranged with the office your arrival packet will be placed in our Late Arrival Box and you will be given directions for access. Inside the box you will find your reservation forms, a parking pass (if enforced), resort map, and keys to your unit. The balance due on your reservation will be charged to the credit card on file before the close of business on your arrival date. Your starter kit will be placed inside your unit. We ask that come to the office the next day to finish with your check in procedures.

Can I bring my pet with me to Heritage Harbor?

Pets are prohibited in units that are not designated as "pet friendly." There are a limited number of accommodations that allow dogs. A standard pet fee of $100 is charged at check-in. If you have reserved a pet friendly home, you will receive a Pet Waiver with your confirmation. Guest are required to pay the pet fee, sign the waiver and leave a credit card on file in the unlikely event that damage occurs as a result of your dog. If you do not bring your dog to the resort, you will not be charged the pet fee.

Non-disclosed dogs in pet-friendly units will result in a $200.00 fee. If there is evidence of a pet in a non-designated unit, you will be charged $250 minimum for housekeeping and damages. If the pet is discovered while you are in residence, you will be required to remove the pet from the premises.

Sorry, dogs are not permitted at the resort swimming pool.

If the weather is predicted to be bad during my stay, can I reschedule or receive a refund?

Refunds are not given due to inclement weather.

How can I find out what events are taking place during my stay?

Once I have paid my 50% deposit, when is the remaining balance due?

The remaining portion of the balance is due upon check-in.

What is the cancellation policy?

Should the need to cancel arise more than 7 days in advance of your planned arrival, your deposit will be fully refundable. If cancellation occurs within 2 to 7 days of your arrival, 50% of your reservation is non-refundable. If a reservation is cancelled 48 hours in advance of arrival, the entire deposit or the value of one night's stay (whichever is greater) will be non-refundable and non-transferable. If within 7 days of your arrival or at check-in you shorten the length of your reservation you will be charged 50% of the rate of the cancelled nights. Once your payment is processed in full, no refunds will be given.

Do you have cribs, hi-chairs, or other baby equipment for use during my stay?

Amenities and upgrades in the individual units are included at the discretion of the owner. Please check the unit descriptions online or ask a reservation agent for assistance in determining if a unit outfitted for young travelers is available for your travel dates. If not, please feel free to bring your own supplies for use in any cottage.

Do you have any minimum stay requirements?

The units in our rental program are all privately owned units. Unit owners choose if and when minimum stays are required and enforced. Please check the unit description to determine if a minimum stay is required. In the event a multiple night stay is listed as the preference, one night exceptions may be approved at the discretion of the owner in exchange for the payment of a one night premium fee. Please contact a reservation agent in person if an exception is needed.

Where can I access Wi-Fi while at the Resort?

The resort offers general access wi-fi on a complimentary basis in the Marina District for the purpose of checking e-mail and light internet surfing. Streaming downloads (and access to services such as Netflix) generally exceed the capacity of this service. On peak weekends, the complimentary service can be interrupted from time to time. It is at the owner's discretion to provide dedicated, high-speed internet access within the actual rental unit. Please check the individual unit descriptions online to determine the exact electronic specifications

What address can I use on Internet mapping services or my GPS device to get directions to Heritage Harbor?

Heritage Harbor Ottawa is a fairly new development, many of the street names and unit addresses cannot be recognized by these electronic devices. You should use the following address to get to the resort, and then obtain a resort map from the Marina Office and Ship store for traveling to a specific unit:

Can I check in early?

Check in time begins at 3 PM. If you do arrive before the normal check in time and your unit is ready for arrival, you may check in early. Otherwise, you can enjoy the resort while you are waiting for access. We will ask for a contact phone number and call you once your unit is available for check-in.

What time is check out?

Check out is at 11 AM. We will make every effort to accommodate late check-out requests. Unauthorized late check-outs will result an additional room night charge at the published nightly rental rate.

Are there any grocery stores close to the resort?

Heritage Harbor has a ship store that offers a small assortment of general sundries for purchase. In the town of Ottawa there are three major grocery stores to choose from. The concierge in the marina office can assist you with directions to any of these.
