From the Harbor Master
Just a few short weeks until the harbor opening. It really seemed like a short winter season, I’m sure the mild weather made it easier on everyone.
I have again visited the other marinas along the Illinois and am very proud of our continued progress–we are the jewel of the river.
It is really good to see the increased traffic through the resort with solid prospects for the marina and home sales.
More progress is being made every week at the resort! The shower house is being trimmed and painted, the cable dig is underway, the marina office has a new look and more homes are being built.
The marina will open Saturday morning the 31st. of March and will include a resort open house event.
Please be sure your payments are up to date and let us know how we may be able to assist you. You are required to check in when arriving at the marina with your boat.
We will have gas and diesel available opening day.
Quest has a storage package available for our boaters wishing to leave a PWC or small boat in the area on a trailer through the week. please contact Dennis at Quest to sign up. Boats on trailers will not be allowed to be parked during the week at the harbor. Empty trailer storage will still be allowed by the shed for $100. All items are left at the owners risk.
We are all looking forward to another great season at HHO.
As a note of further interest, I drove my family down historic Route 66 to Bloomington. We stopped in Pontiac and was pleasantly surprised to visit the three museums in town. The Route66 museum, the War museum and a Pontiac auto museum. All three were free to the public and Very Very well done. Just a thought for a rainy day trip from HHO to Pontiac. You won’t be disappointed!
It won’t be long now!
