The thought of eating outside one’s comfort zone is at time a bit unnerving, but eating can be an adventure if you let yourself experience something different.
Cajun Chef and proud owner, Ron Mc Farlain first opened his doors back in 1995.
Raised in the heart of Cajun Country the menu is comprised of Ron’s favorite foods from his own recipes. Try some fresh battered Louisiana alligator, gumbo, jambalaya, etouffee’, or jumbo shrimp, with the freshest seafood around you will be amazed that this wonder of culinary delight is hidden away in this tiny unassuming restaurant.
When you first drive past Cajun Connection you may not think it looks like much, but once you come inside and step away from the everyday food you regularly eat, you will be pleased with the result.
Cajun Ron not only cooks but loves to interact with his customers so be prepared for an eating adventure that you will never forget. The character of Cajun Connection doesn’t just come from the building… it’s everything including the staff.
Make sure you order a drink because who can resist a Blackened Voodoo or a Turbo Dog
(a really great dark beer that’s really smooth). If you are looking for a drink that is a little more familiar there are fabulous wines from Utica’s local winery, August Hill.
The menu is defiantly Cajun, no boring, flavorless food here… It is spicy and delicious.
But the best part of any meal is the desert and man do they have then best around.
Be it Ron’s Roasted Pecan Pie w/WO ice cream or Amy’s Bread Pudding with sauce
You cannot go wrong so save room!
Cajun Connection was recently nominated in ABC’s “Nightline” Plate list contest. Check out the video, but most importantly go try out Cajun Connection.
