Heritage Harbor Ottawa is nestled in the heart of Starved Rock Country and many in this rural area believe that community is a way of life not just a place to live.
Local charities combine entertainment in small outdoor venues with a charitable event in order to promote a sense of community. The local “Concert for a Cause” held on Saturday, August 14th sold 6,000 tickets for a charity concert benefiting local schools.
An upcoming charity event called “Mini Revini” benefits the Ottawa Friendship House and will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010. This outdoor music event features the classical music of The Chicago Brass Quintet. The evening will begin with local talent at 4:30 and the Performance by the Chicago Brass Quintet will begin at 5:30 pm.
Ottawa Friendship House is a non-profit corporation whose purpose is to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities through informed choice and empowerment, continued education, recreation, paid work training, living supports, community integration, and community employment.
The outdoor concert is just a $ 20.00 donation per person, and will be held on Creek Campus behind Friendship Village so bring you picnic basket, blanket, and a bottle of wine! (This is a BYOB event)
What a wonderful way to spend a warm summer evening .Sit in the lawn area and listen to the music while picnicking and help a worth while cause.
Heritage Harbor Ottawa is pleased to be part of a community with a big heart.
